College and Vocational Training Scholarships Available for Union Members & Dependents

One of the many benefits of union membership is access to exclusive programs such as educational scholarships. The 2019 academic year will be starting soon so we want our members to know about the scholarship programs available to union members and their dependents offered by Union Plus, The Chicago Federation of Labor, and CISCO. Members can find more information about each program on their listed web pages below. These deadlines will be here before we know it so act fast.

The Union Plus Scholarship Program – Application Deadline is January 31, 2019
Union Plus offers competitive scholarship awards ranging from $500 to $4,000, as one-time cash awards to current and retired members of participating unions, their spouses and their dependent children (as defined by IRS regulations). Students may re-apply each year.

Applicants are evaluated according to academic ability, social awareness, financial need and appreciation of labor. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended. The required essays can account for up to half your total score. Scholarship applicants are judged by a committee of impartial post-secondary educators.

A complete application must be received on or before 12:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on January 31, 2019. Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.
