Chicago Laborers’ District Council Endorses Lori Lightfoot for Mayor
March 15, 2019 - CLDCChicago, Illinois (March 14, 2019) - The Chicago Laborers’ District Council (LIUNA) and its affiliated Local Unions are proud to announce our endorsement of Lori Lightfoot for Mayor.
“Chicago's leadership and vision for the future is vital to the livelihood and well-being of our membership. Likewise, the entire City depends every day on the skills and expertise of our members who pick up our garbage, fill our potholes, build our roads, bridges, and buildings, keep the city clean, build and maintain the public water and stormwater infrastructure, and who protect the environment and health of our city. A successful partnership requires cooperation, understanding, and dedication from all parties. Lori Lightfoot is committed to supporting collective bargaining, prevailing wage, project labor agreements, job opportunities for Laborers, and protecting workers’ rights and our pensions.
